 THE WAY WE WERE

Simply beautiful?

There will, we are sure, be visitors to our site who recall the folowing...

Do you have recollections of a face cream called Icilma which was promoted by advertising containing the following poem:
Jamima was a bright young thing
Blithe and happy as a king
Went to parties every night
Arrived home when it was getting light
And though you'd think this life of sin
Would leave it's traces on her skin
But her skin is much admired
Icilma stops it getting tired.
Then there was Ponds who used to make a pot of face cream called Ponds vanishing
cream.
And it’s a pretty safe bet there will be Flashback readers who remember Handy-Andy - an all purpose cleaner? The TV advertisement used to say "You're so Handy Andy".
The TV star Katie Boyle promoted Camay soap: with the slogan “You’ll look a little
lovelier each day - with fabulous pink Camay.”
